When Everly first joined our family, Jason and I went into a sort of survival mode to get through each day. I am so thankful Jason was able to take two weeks off from work to help me, and is also able to work form home. I am not looking forward to his needing to be in the office for a few shifts next month but I do feel I am at a place where I can manage through the day on my own, but having the extra set of hands sure is nice so I will be looking forward to when he gets home after work each day.
We had mentioned in a previous post that Everly is doing a little better. She is still doing better, but she did have a set back over this past weekend. She was back to having moments of choking from projectile spit up. Sorry if that's to much info for some, but that's day to day life for us right now. When this happens it freaks us out, and her of course. She was not a happy baby. Wednesday night though I could have cried because for the first time Everly had two bottles without any problems. She is back to some spit up, but we are at a place now where we feel we can survive. We've made it 56 days! Can't believe she is almost two months old already. Still appreciate everyone's thoughts and prayers for Everly.
We have been very blessed with a baby who likes to sleep. It helps that she is bottle fed, and gets a combo for what is in the bottle. My Mom mentioned to me the other day that my sister's and I all slept better once we switched to being bottle fed. At a month old Everly slept for 6 hours straight. Now we could set a clock by her depending on the time she goes to bed she is either up at 7:15am or 8:15am every morning. Last night we had an 11 hour sleep stretch from her which was an amazing first.
She is also sleeping in her own room already. I am only able to do this with some peace of mind because we have an Angel Care Monitor, so if for some reason she does stop breathing when sleeping an alarm will go off. The alarm has only been set off by us, when we forget to turn it off before picking her up. That is not a fun sound to be woken by. Everly is still sleeping in her bassinet, which is placed inside the crib, we wont be switching her to sleeping in the crib its self for another month. We switched her to her own room because Jason was having a really hard time sleeping with all the noises she makes during her sleep. We were both always waking up to check on her. We are beginning to distinguish the difference between sleep noises, and woken up noises. Its really nice when she wakes in the mornings because she is often full of smiles. Tired as we are when we get her in the mornings, the smiles make everything better.
Well, we are off to youth group to go bowling, hope everyone has a great weekend. We'll be heading up to Whistler for a mini get away with Everly. I want to see snow! Hoping to maybe go across on the Peak to Peak.
